“Do you provide free estimates?”

We charge for detailed estimates and in-home design consultations. During our first conversation on the phone, we can provide an average price range for your project, for free. You can also view our pricing page for a general idea. But, when we come to your home, we charge $150 for a 60-90 minute design consultation where we take measurements, bring product samples, and discuss your needs in great detail. By the end of the session we will be able to provide a firm price quote. If you proceed with signing an agreement with Thompson Tile within 14 days, the fee is waived completely! (In other words: the fee is only invoiced if you don’t agree to proceed with the project within 14 days).

“Do You Offer Warranties or Guarantees?”

We can register a 15-year to Lifetime manufacturer warranty from Schluter®- Systems (see details) on the waterproofing of your shower. We have been trained by Schluter®- Systems to deliver installations that meet their precise standards for warranty coverage. We will also assist you in getting warranty coverage on other installed products where applicable. In addition, we provide a standard 1-year labour and materials warranty on our workmanship.

“Who will I be working with during the renovation?”

You’ll be working directly with James Thompson, owner and contractor. From your first call to the final tile, James handles each project with care and personal attention. We work with licensed 3rd party subcontractors for plumbing, electrical, and custom glass installation as required.

“How Far Out Are You Scheduling Jobs?”

As a small company, Thompson Tile only takes on a single project at one time. This means we dedicate 100% of our attention to your project until it is complete. Because we do not juggle multiple sites at once, our schedule may be harder to book. Get in touch with us. If this is a high-priority project, we may be able to figure out a solution for you.

“Do You Provide Tiles?”

We encourage agreements where the client provides (or pays separately for) tiles, and in many cases, many other highly variable items too (such as glass doors, plumbing fixtures, etc.) this allows you greater flexibility to choose designs and features that match your tastes and budget. We may be able to provide “all-inclusive” quotes if the client is happy with selecting all items based on our in-home samples or brochures, and doesn’t care to visit a showroom or store.
