Meet James Thompson, Owner & Contractor
I’m James, owner of Thompson Tile. Since 2016, I have been involved in renovations and contracting in various roles. I discovered tile in 2021 and successfully completed intensive training at the Terrazzo, Tile and Marble School of Ontario and worked for the union. I also hold two certifications from industry leaders, Schluter Systems and Wedi. I enjoy all facets of home renovation, but I particularly love well organized, efficient bathroom upgrades.
When I moved to the Ottawa Valley to be closer to family, I initially worked for Deep River & District Health where I met many residents in the community and discovered that most people would strongly prefer not to move into Long-Term Care or other places like retirement homes. People want to live in their own house as long as possible! But, a big barrier to mobility and happy living in later years (or for those living with a disability or mobility challenges) is layout and design, especially for bathrooms. I decided that I wanted to contribute to this solution and do bathroom renovations full-time.
It’s been very satisfying to help my neighbours transform their homes.

“Do you provide free estimates?”
Phone, email, and virtual estimates are 100% FREE! You can also view our pricing page for a general idea of project pricing. We charge for estimates and in-home design consultations, which are fully credited towards the project if you sign an agreement with us within 30 days of the in-person estimate.
“Do You Offer Warranties or Guarantees?”
Most of the products we use have a 15-year to Lifetime manufacturer warranty. We In addition, we provide a standard 1-year labour and materials warranty on our workmanship.
